About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Financial Modeler with specialized expertise in the blockchain or gaming industry. As part of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting commercial deals, revenue planning and providing strategic decision support.

As the Senior Financial Modeler at Sky Mavis, you will lead the development and maintenance of financial models providing critical support for commercial deals, ensuring accurate revenue planning and offering decision support to drive the financial success of our innovative projects.


Model Development

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models with a focus on crypto tokenomics, considering various factors such as token supply, demand dynamics, staking, and liquidity.
  • Lead the revenue planning process, incorporating insights from tokenomics models to project and analyze revenue streams across different products and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect pertinent financial data and assumptions, particularly partnering with the business and product team to grasp the technical requirements for tokenomics, internal product development and external game partnership.
  • Evaluate business deals using various financial valuation methods, such as DCF, comparable company analysis, capital structure analysis etc.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial models, encompassing the entire group and individual scenario analyses for specific projects.

Financial Analysis & Decision Support

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to underpin strategic decision-making within the blockchain, gaming and web3 context.
  • Assess the consequences of various scenarios on the financial performance of the company within the dynamic blockchain industry.
  • Provide strategic decision support by synthesizing complex financial data into actionable insights, assisting senior leadership in making informed and commercially sound decisions.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Contribute to the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, lead the revenue planning and work closely with the FP&A Manager to deliver long-term plans, annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on a spectrum of commercial scenarios to enhance the accuracy of budgeting and forecasting processes.

Risk Assessment

  • Evaluate financial risks and opportunities in the blockchain and web3 landscape, offering insights into potential impacts.
  • Develop stress testing scenarios to assess the resilience of financial models in the dynamic and evolving crypto environment.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including business development, product, and engineering, to ensure alignment of financial models with business objectives.
  • Collect, organize, and validate financial data from diverse sources, emphasizing data integrity and the accuracy of input data into financial models.
  • Clearly communicate financial insights and recommendations to non-finance stakeholders

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously assess and enhance FP&A processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices and stay updated on industry trends in financial planning and analysis.
  • Work closely with the finance team to implement new processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial planning and analysis.
